Welcome to the Dance Gallery 2

Two major variations exist: rhythm (jazz) tap and Broadway tap. Broadway tap focuses on dance; it is widely performed in musical theater. Rhythm tap focuses on musicality, and practitioners consider themselves to be a part of the jazz tradition.

Ballet is an artistic dance form, originating in the Italian Renaissance courts of the 15th century; it later developed into a concert dance form in France and Russia. It is now a widespread, highly technical form of dance.

Jazz dancers “feel and fill out” impromptu variations based on the feelings of the performer and the audience’s response to the music. Jazz is the physical embodiment of the popular music of any given time.

Hip-Hop & Break-Dance

Hip-hop – street dance styles that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture; includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking and popping. Breakdance – a style of acrobatic dancing that originated in the streets and is characterized by intricate footwork, spinning headstands and improvised virtuosic movements.
